April 2017 Reading By the Numbers

In April, I read 29 books.

16 of the authors were male and 13 were female.

23 of the books were fiction, 4 were nonfiction, and 2 were poetry. 1 was a graphic novel, 12 were YA, 1 was about politics, 1 was about the humanities, 8 were children’s books, 1 was memoir, 2 were poetry, 2 were literary, and 1 was an essay collection.

The overall rating was 3.34 out of 5.

11 were paperback books, 4 were hardcover books, 4 were iBooks, 9 were ebooks, and 1 was an ARC.

The average year of publication was 1996.

7 were published by Penguin Random House, 4 were published by HarperCollins, 3 were published by Macmillan, 1 was published by Simon & Schuster, 1 was published by Hachette Book Group, and 13 were published by publishing houses outside of the Big 5.

I read a total of 8,203 pages with the average page count being 283 pages.

I spent $97.53 on books this month.

1 of the books I already owned, 4 were gifts, 14 were purchased, and 10 were borrowed.
