January 2017 Reading by the Numbers

In January, I read 23 books.

17 of the authors were male and 6 were female.

22 of the authors were white and 1 was a minority.

I read 20 fiction books, 2 nonfiction books, and 1 poetry collection. 16 were children’s books, 2 were YA, 1 was memoir, 1 was science, 1 was poetry, 1 was history, and 1 was literary.

The overall rating was 4.65/5.

15 of the books were hardcover, 2 were iBooks, and 6 were paperback.

Most of the books I read this month were published in the early 2000s.

13 of the books were published by HarperCollins, 1 was published by Hachette Book Group, 5 were published by Penguin Random House, and 4 were published by other publishing houses outside of the Big 5.

I read a total of 6,644 pages with the average page count being 289.

I spent $11.98 on books this month.

16 of the books I already owned, 2 were purchased, 2 were gifts, and 2 were borrowed.
